Welcome to the World
One of my favorite parts of being a nurse is when you hand a mother her child for the very first time and watch as they seem to soak in the very essence of the moment – that first moment. They touch all of the fingers and toes as they silently count each and every one.
They simply stare at the very breaths of life while their new child sleeps or snuggles close.
They breathe in the smell of newborn skin and they make tiny soothing noises to assure their child that yes indeed mommy is still right there.
That connection. That moment. It is forever. As a now photographer, it is even a greater moment to be able to share that connection through printed art. I love when a new mom sees these moments captured because when she holds these images 3 months from now, 6 months from now, 5 years from now, 18 years from now she will instantly remember the way it felt to hold her new baby.
